Actually, I'm kind of interested the very next article about Aflac possibly sponsoring a digger. I sure hope it's Kalitta. He needs to stay on the track.

Actually, I thought Whit did a really good job with his interviews--I was surprised how much different his voice sounded as an interviewer--very modulated and professional. Not like he used to sound in his driver interviews---scuze me for saying it, and no disrespect meant, but his top end interviews always had kinda a whiny tone to them, and I didn't hear that at all today. Overall, I think he did just fine. But if he really did cause all the bad weather, well, that's another story altogether....:D

I have always been a Whit fan. He came off damn good for a rookie. Being a sportscaster looks like a very tough job, as you have to be thinking, speaking and listening to your producer in the headphones and your interviewee live on the mic.

I hope Mike Dunn, being a bicycle buddy of Whit's, gives him a few tips and some mentoring. Not that Whit is bad or nothing, but it always helps to have some one more experienced helping out when you get started in a new job.

The other guys on TV are also experienced, and I hope they are also supporting Whit in this new venture.

Whit has very strong feelings about all safety issues. I hope he can throttle his some time outspokenness enough to keep this gig! Stir the pot enough to get some good TV coverage but not enough to bite the hand that feeds Whit.

One thing I hate is starting a new job. Whit pulled off his first day on the job quite well, in my opinion. And how many of us in the workplace have to deal with the stress of knowing there's an audience of almost millions listening to your every word?

I was glad to see him doing this. He seemed to be glad also, I am sure no one held a gun to his head. Another top fuel guy a long time ago tried to get into broadcasting for ESPN, and if you can't get a ride why not grab a mic? Their experience makes for a very good interview, not some silly questions that have been asked by a few others.
I like Whit, and if this turns into a job for him, I am glad.
I also liked the little girl that interviewed Tony P and she didn't know his last name!! When he whispered it in her ear, she mispronounced it!! He made a joke of it, but still thought that was kind of funny.

Funny you should mention that, my buddy Pete was there yesterday and mentioned that he was interviewing at the Ron's pit! He did mention that Ron was not in the area.

I'm sure when Mr DeVita gets home he'll have a comment... and perhaps a few more stories to tell...

I noticed Whit in the pits when I arrived around 3pm and later, while strolling the pits during the traditional Langlo oil down, I noticed Whit was filming at Capps car. Now I found this interesting, with his history with Capps.

whit was just fine, hope to see more of him.

also liked medlen's explanation of new style bead-rim.

I don't think Ron would do anything on film;)

so ol' Baze must have felt safe:D
