Remember the late Hans Kuesel from the San Jose, CA ran a Alky Flopper with a
Mercedes 500SL body in the mid 80s. Saw the flopper at Seattle a couple of times.
It didn't have a Mercedes motor, but something way better. Keith Black Hemi

Pardon me for my ignorance. They wouldn’t do anything like this as a one off would they? Could it have been a modified mustang body or something? I know even with the Datsun they made a handful of them.

Hans then sold it to Rico Anthes from Germany (the same guy who raced T/F and the famous drag race track named after him) at the Hockenheimring. About 6 of his racecars including this one and his 2 seat T/F car reside in one of the world's greatest car, racecar, tanks, and aircraft Museum's Sinsheim near Stutgart. I'd love to go back someday !
