LAS VEGAS (April 15) – The Jim Dunn-owned Lucas Oil Chevrolet Funny Car suffered a first round loss against Scott Kalitta at the eighth annual Summitracing.com Nationals at the Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bartone recorded a tire smoking elapsed time of 9.882 seconds, 79.92 mph to Kalitta’s winning time of 4.841 seconds, 320.43 mph.
He was the No. 8 Funny Car qualifier with his time of 4.799 seconds along with a speed of 314.75 mph.
Bartone is 19th in the NHRA POWERade points standings with 135 markers after the completion of five of 23 NHRA races
The next NHRA National event will be the Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga. on April 27-29.
