Bad light for Tony Stewart? (3 Viewers)

Any thoughts or concerns about Tony Stewart's horrendous light in his 2nd Rd loss to Shawn Langdon at Bristol? Crew Chief Mike Green seemed to think Langdon must have red lit but the computers showed he didn't.

Very odd, but it does happen to everyone at some point.

On the broadcast it was mentioned that there was beef of some sort between the Leah and Langdon teams. The mention coupled with the video of Tony brushing off Shawn's attempt to shake Tony's hand makes it seem like there's something there. Not that there's anything wrong with a competitive beef, just wondering if there's more to the story. (Nosey I suppose, LOL)

Great to see Wilk, AB, and Hartford all do well.

Langdon and Pruitt don't care for one another at all and that started before TS came into her life. I don't recall the reason; just remember it being mentioned and a couple of Langdon track-end interviews where it was pretty obvious. I think Stewart was beside himself after his .244 light and not PO'd at Langdon per se. Mad enough that he would have brushed off anybody including his own wife had it been her instead of Shawn. Just a bit of passion; ain't no biggie.

I remember spending a little time around Bazemore's pit and the only thing that stood out to me was the ever-present horde of hot chicks sniffing around him like lovesick puppies. Ron Capps can probably tell you more about his personality than I can. ;)

I seem to recall they both grew up in the same area of Southern CA (Leah in Redlands) and they both raced junior dragsters. I think the rivalry may go back that far.
I remember (at least I'm pretty sure I do) during a top end interview several years back well before TR and maybe even before Pritchett where Langdon said he's "forgotten more about drag racing" than Leah even knows now. Or something to that affect.

I don't know when it started either. Didn't Leah getting the Papa Johns sponsorship come into play as well???

Leah comes by her motorsports CV honestly. Her dad, who owned a serious alignment shop two block from my house, was a 200mph club member at Bonneville with his blown Ford Thunderbird. She has been serious about the sport since she was a little kid in a junior dragster at Rialto Airport. Looks like her car can take her places this year.

Yep - both of them have paid the price of admission to the top echelons of drag racing. So has Tony Stewart, who is no stranger to being an A-hole, either. Who cares; we can't all be saints.

Had no idea that Leah and Shawn had issues with each other. I'm guessing Tony S. was just super upset with his reaction time or whatever distracted him on that run. He was just showing his anger and disgust with the situation but maybe because of what you are saying about Leah has affected his actions toward him. Saw something elsewhere that was quite negative towards Tony S. but I personally am glad he's in the sport and brings more eyeballs to drag racing.

I too liked seeing those 3 do well at Bristol. Had no idea AB's winless streak was that long. Wasn't Antron fresh off winning the Championship after Mark Oswald retired?

shawn was crying about leah taking his ride years ago when she first got in to tf,she work hard to find sponsors and he didnt, she got the ride
Shawns first TF ride was with Morgan Lucas...Leah was fighting in the Nostalgia FC ranks then I believe....she couldn't have taken his ride

i think? shawn ended up at dsr after the al anabi deal fizzled. i remember shawn still driving for AJ when he had
the knuckle sandwich/guy fieri matte black car, but that was for just a few races. somewhere in that mixup i think shawn ended up
in the dsr self sponsored car. i think leah and papa johns may have come in shortly thereafter and then i think shawn
moved over to the K camp ...... i think?? ....... that is the only way i can recollect those two driver's careers coming even remotely close.

I could be wrong, but I thought some of that was related to her getting Papa Johns. He had it or had a ride with DSR or something like that. Had to be back in 2017/18.

The heat began when she went to DSR in 2017 and Shawn was out. Shawn joined Kalitta mid year in 2017 if my memory is correct. I thought I read a few years ago that they are all good now.

Ehhhh....I dunno about that. Some of those dustups/rivalries last a long time. The Dallas Cowboys have hated the Philadelphia Eagles and vice versa for reasons that started over 50 years ago. I forget which commentator it was but the words "no love lost between these two" were uttered just as Leah staged against Shawn in the finals at Epping.

Sometimes, two people just don't like one another. I can't imagine it would have anything to do with possibly losing a ride nearly 10 years ago. Both are doing quite well so who cares. Fire the next pair.
