Bad light for Tony Stewart? (10 Viewers)

Any thoughts or concerns about Tony Stewart's horrendous light in his 2nd Rd loss to Shawn Langdon at Bristol? Crew Chief Mike Green seemed to think Langdon must have red lit but the computers showed he didn't.

Very odd, but it does happen to everyone at some point.

On the broadcast it was mentioned that there was beef of some sort between the Leah and Langdon teams. The mention coupled with the video of Tony brushing off Shawn's attempt to shake Tony's hand makes it seem like there's something there. Not that there's anything wrong with a competitive beef, just wondering if there's more to the story. (Nosey I suppose, LOL)

Great to see Wilk, AB, and Hartford all do well.

Langdon and Pruitt don't care for one another at all and that started before TS came into her life. I don't recall the reason; just remember it being mentioned and a couple of Langdon track-end interviews where it was pretty obvious. I think Stewart was beside himself after his .244 light and not PO'd at Langdon per se. Mad enough that he would have brushed off anybody including his own wife had it been her instead of Shawn. Just a bit of passion; ain't no biggie.

I remember spending a little time around Bazemore's pit and the only thing that stood out to me was the ever-present horde of hot chicks sniffing around him like lovesick puppies. Ron Capps can probably tell you more about his personality than I can. ;)

I seem to recall they both grew up in the same area of Southern CA (Leah in Redlands) and they both raced junior dragsters. I think the rivalry may go back that far.

I remember (at least I'm pretty sure I do) during a top end interview several years back well before TR and maybe even before Pritchett where Langdon said he's "forgotten more about drag racing" than Leah even knows now. Or something to that affect.

I don't know when it started either. Didn't Leah getting the Papa Johns sponsorship come into play as well???

Leah comes by her motorsports CV honestly. Her dad, who owned a serious alignment shop two block from my house, was a 200mph club member at Bonneville with his blown Ford Thunderbird. She has been serious about the sport since she was a little kid in a junior dragster at Rialto Airport. Looks like her car can take her places this year.

Yep - both of them have paid the price of admission to the top echelons of drag racing. So has Tony Stewart, who is no stranger to being an A-hole, either. Who cares; we can't all be saints.
