The photo has been floating around the web for years. It is photoshopped, can't remember the back
story on the photo. Just look at the stickers, NOS, Autometer. Zoom in on the driver, there is a tach
and shift light. Only thing real is Lions.

I don't think the flopper ever came to the Northwest in 1969 or 1970. I would surely remember
seeing this flopper run. I do remember reading in one of my old issues of Drag Racing USA or
SS & DI it did win a funny car event at New England Dragway. The car was from SoCal.
It was ill handling at best.

Yeah, the decals and lack of a proper engine. I don't think a bug engine could roll that much smoke if that was the photoshoppers intention.

Warren Gunters VW was originally built as an AA/FA, then switched to F/C. Saw it at Lions, had a blown Rat on nitro. Am bummed that the photo I discovered was photo shopped. argh The Nitro Bug is the quickest & fastest Bug so far. From England, right? The "truck" is on alky & from UK also. Have seen videos of it and it would be cool to see it run in person. Maybe we could do a Go Fund Me and get them both to USA for exhibition runs...... heh
