Antron - Big Wreck

Just got word that Antron had a big wreck. Lost and engine in th elights and went across into the other wall and slid backwards to the sand.

Word is he is okay.

Was watching it online. Scary wreck. But he walked to the ambulance on his own power thankfully.

Yup ... fire in the capsule. Worse than FC in that tight little space. Will trigger discussion for sure. Scary. Glad he appears ok.

Yeah, thats strange. And I have to imagine with an explosion of that magnitude its not beyond the realm of possibilities for a little fire to get in. Great photo btw

National Dragster also has a frontal view of the car right after the explosion and there's a lot of fire in the cockpit. As the car was further down the track Mark R. has a photo of the car and the canopy is the only thing on the car that was still intact. Check out the photo sequence on Comp Plus, the fire was only there for a quick second, so I really don't see an issue. A little blow back fire sure out weighs any debris/parts getting up into the cockpit area.

NHRA Interviewing AB on the NHRA Audio. Antron states he's O.K., Lungs clear and capsule saved him. Slight Brush burns on knees -He's doing quit O.K. per his statement. Great to hear it.

Fire in the cockpit!! Well, if you look at Shoe's car, you can see light between the canopy and the body when its closed, so this doesn't surprise me. I just don't see how they could design this "saftey capsule" and not have it fully enclosed!
