Angelle announces retirement

Angelle,

Loved your response. As one who came to the same decision some 10 years ago, after 45 years of being on the road following the circuit, it has been the wisest move I have ever made.

There will be days you will question your sanity, but they lessen in numbers as time goes by...and you begin to realize that a whole lot goes on in the world other than the racing.

While I don't miss a lot of the work that goes with such a career...I do miss the people. The folks at the races had been and still are my best friends...and I don't get to see them as often as I would like.

But guess what...there's a lot of nice folks out there that have never set foot on a race track...and there are lots of great things to see and do.

My family paid the price for my being gone all the time...moments that I will never ever recover. They understood that I was attempting to make a living for us and tolerated it extremely well.

You will have your accomplishments to look back on with justifiable pride...and precious moments to come that will give you a whole new insight on life.

Enjoy it to the fullest...it is yours to live.

My very best for your upcoming wedding and motherhood. Kiss the kid for me!!!

MaC

Well Said Mac, and sometimes you do return and it seems like you haven't lost a beat since retiring, look at you at Pomona this year working with Bob in the tower throughout the weekend.

You still got it Mac

Angelle, here's hoping the next time you are part of a race team its watching your kid driving a Jr. dragster.

I was able to be the "crew chief" for my son's racing careers when they were young (they started racing at 6 and 7 years old) and that's a really special experience, I really hope you get to have it.

As a 42 year old father of a 6 month old daughter, I say AMEN and Congratulations Angelle!!! Although, I still love drag racing I would not trade the time I spend with my daughter for anything.

So the answer is,... I chose life! The life of a child that I pray God will bless Seth and me with. If a Top Fuel ride presented itself tommorrow, I promise you that I would turn it down. If I am blessed enough to hold a child of my own in my arms one day because of that choice, it will be a choice that I will NEVER regret!

Amen! Good for you!

When you are blessed to hold the child, the child will be blessed to know that you gave up something important for her, so that she may live a blessed life as well.

Yes, I can relate to the strains of a woman doing and I imagine (and I know that realizing it will be coming soon enough) it's harder because your children are tied to your heartstrings and leaving them behind and missing milestones is very painful.

I wasn't going to post in this thread, but, as a new mom myself I have to say that I understand very well the feeling that you are called to start a family. It kicked in for me when I turned 30 in 2008.
Angelle, while we never met while I was out at the track -- no bikes at the Seattle race which I cover -- I always enjoyed watching you race for all the reasons your mom talked about. At least I got to see you in person the first time I went to a Vegas race. :)
I hope that you are blessed with the joys of parenthood. My little girl Lyla is THE best thing I have ever done in my life. She's almost four months old now and every moment with her is amazing. My husband and I were married nine years before I got pregnant. I'm glad I waited because I think I appreciate this more now than I may have when I was in my early 20s.
Good luck in your life away from the track. I wish you love, joy and happiness and with luck a sweet child will come into your life sooner rather than later.

I am sorry to see Angelle retire.

I am sorry Angelle is getting married. (she is SO hot!) :D

I am glad Angelle is going to pursue her dream of having children. I bet she'll be a great Mom.

She can always come back someday, if she chooses.

I hope you are right!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely keep you all posted on that one too.

Thanks again for all of your kindness and support!!

Angelle

Well...if you're in DENVER give me a ring. Good Luck Angelle!

Just curious...How many times has she been married ?

How many times have you been dropped on your head as a child?

Some people just have to ask stupid questions to draw attention to themselves. Anyway............

Good luck and God Bless, Angelle and Seth. I have and will continue to miss you at the track.
