AN AMISH FARMER'S PRAYER

The forecast changes by the hour and will continue to change. Latest model runs all have low confidence show the storm moving further east. Hopefully it's just cloudy and the rain stays in NJ and on the coast.

I sure hope so Paul Miller. I'm headed down from Maine with my 11 year old. This will be my first trip to Maple Grove. I'm gonna be watching the forecast but still not sure if I want to take a gamble on the weather when I have a 9 hour drive each way! We have been looking forward to this race for 6 months now. When I saw the national news channel's forecast this morning my day was ruined! Keeping my fingers crossed it hits Maine not PA!!!

As of 6pm update ... weather underground is saying 70% Thurs / 100% Friday and Saturday / 40% Sunday. Add to that temperatures predicted to be only around 55 Friday and Saturday.

Not looking good IMO

Man, PA is getting hammered with rain, don't know if this is system they have been talking about, if so hopefully it will be out for weekend. Bet parking is going to be bad.

I cant rememer the last time we had this much rain, its time to move the dates Maple grove/NHRA to off hurricane season,When maple Groves headlines are weather instead of racing,NOT GOOD. Almost every year!

Hopefully NHRA will step up and cancel the race, if the storm is headed toward the Mid-Atlantic, to save all the racers and fans from wasting their time to sit at a race that won't run, just to reschedule.

It's around 9:45pm Tues night and it is raining pretty good here at the track. We are all lined up ready to park tomorrow. If it rains all weekend then they will have to go to plan B...but, if it doesn't then there will be some good racing this weekend. The teams will be set up and ready to go either way... and Nhra will do whatever it takes to get this race in.

Praying for a Friday and Saturday rain out with mineshaft conditions Sunday for first round where it shows which crew chiefs are worth the big bucks! #fingerscrossed

Was it last year they told the sportsman to stay home and they raced them the following weekend. Is that what they will do this time, Maybe try having race before Carolina. Just a thought !

The new Hurricane is the real wildcard. Another Cat 2 when it reaches the Jersey shore this weekend. Local forecasts will probably waffle all over the place until Thursday / Friday when there is more certainty on Jacquin. Looks like East Coast is a target for sure, just not clear yet where exactly, when, and who. But rain is always way out in front of the actual storm and another 3-5" are currently forecast for SE Pennsylvania between Friday and Saturday.

Other sites are reporting lots of Sportsman racer withdrawls from the event ... event is down to 78% full. It was over 90% on Monday.

Wasn't this race next after Indy years ago? If so they should go back to it. Weather in the NE is just crap after September. IMHO

The weather forecast was 100% for all day today, and now it has dropped to 20%. It rained hard last night but the sun is trying to come out right now. The forecast changes hourly around here. As of right now Sat looks the worse, but that can change at any minute. Nhra is parking us right now.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, this is hilarious!!! The race was moved from the September date because it would rain every year. The early October date historically has had much better weather. I am now debating on whether or not to cancel my flight and stay home for the weekend. Not sure I want to sit around doing nothing for 2 days, I can do that in Houston while being in the comforts of my house. . My flight back is on Monday and that's when the Hurricane is supposed to be impacting the area, the rain on Friday and Saturday is from a stalled front with a low pressure forming on it and that can happen anytime of the year.
