AN AMISH FARMER'S PRAYER

... Other sites are reporting lots of Sportsman racer withdrawls from the event ... event is down to 78% full. It was over 90% on Monday.
Yikes ... these 4 sportsman classes Stock, SS, SG, SC were all full or even over full as of Monday. Even Comp, TAD, and TAFC, have shed a few entries. Heading down toward 300 cars here pretty quick and still 2 hours left on the deadline. Bad deal all around.

The saying around NASCAR is that they set up a vortex or rotation when they get out on the track and it "helps push the storms away"...

in the NHRA we need to encourage the teams to all start their fuel motors at the same time (with throttle whacks) to "burn " away the bad weather! Every P/S team needs to "burn down" at the tree too.

"Yeah...that's the ticket!"

I just read on another site that NHRA telling teams it's run till we're done, I say if your still going Paul pack a couple extra days and take a jacket it's going to be chilling.

Do they have lights ?, probably have curfew also.

taken from Maple Grove's 2015 rule book:

"Closing Time
Local township ordinance mandates that racing be completed by 8 p.m. on Sunday thru
Thursday, 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays. At no event will un-muffled
engines be permitted to start before 8:30 a.m. Racers are asked to clear the pit area within one
hour of the final round at the conclusion of racing for the weekend".

I was there in 1990 when finals were held at 10pm so being in farm country they might be more lenient for a National Event...

I am on the fence right now to even get on the plane tomorrow. I don't want to be stranded at the airport on Monday. My round trip ticket was only $200 so it's not like I will be out a bunch of cash. I am dumb like this, so I will likely still fly in tomorrow just because I don't want to miss the chance to see what should be great racing if they do it.

Four of us are driving down from Massachusetts Friday morning @ 6:00am. Should be at the track by 1:00, just in time to see first round of Nitro cars. Rain or shine we will be there.

From Mark Rebilas 1 he ago. "In an effort to complete more racing before storm system hits tomorrow NHRA is announcing new Friday schedule. Pro sessions 2 hrs earlier: FC/TF at Noon and 3 due to forecast for afternoon and evening rain."

I believe 1st round of nitro was moved to 12pm on Fridaay. Allen Johnson posted on Facebook everything was moved up 2 hours to hopefully beat the rain

No racing yet today and there is a steady stream of Green, Yellow, and Orange stretched from Allentown, PA all the way down to DC. Motion shows it will continue to train right up over Mohnton area and doesn't seem to be dissipating.

Hopefully they get that window tomorrow. We'll see
