According to my calculations he has! A well deserved victory! GO MOPAR!
He's 126 points ahead of Line... there are 150 points still up for grabs...

I was wondering how many points are still out there. Tried finding on nhra.com, but couldn't find anything listed on the "points" section.
10 for qualifying run
3 for fastest run each q round (12)
20 to qualify
80 for the race
20 for national record.
I am up to 142.
Pretty sure all AJ has to do is qualify. Didn't see the tv coverage either so not sure if they said anything.
Am I off in all of this?
So thrilled for AJ!!!!!!!
I thought I heard Mike say all he has to do is qualify and it's a done deal.![]()
Add 8 points for qualifying #1 and you get the 150 Karl mentioned.
Well, I must say..........
I'm a die-hard GM guy, period. But I just can't help having some admiration in seeing them sew this deal up. Unlike many others before, the Johnson clan stuck with the Mopar combination through thick and thin, and despite some very thin times over the years, they persevered. And that perseverence has led them to now having a car that can win anywhere. I was also impressed with how AJ tightened things up behind the wheel on the starting line down the stretch as well, not giving it away when he had the best car.
Kudos to that team, Roy Johnson in particular. Very humble man and I can't imagine anyone more deserving of the world title.

Very well stated Sean. I have always been impressed with your appreciation of 'other' competitors. You are a very good sport.
