I for one am a little skeptical, yes this Al-Anabi may have a lot of cash 'apparently' but how long will he love Drag Racing? Think about that one. Been a few people with the big bucks in the past, and before you know it gone again.

Ill follow AJ no matter where he goes, but personally I'd rather he stay at Don's or get given the right amount to field his own deal again, one that would have his name on it!!!

I have a couple thoughts on this:
* Alan should get a bunch of his money up front as a foreign contract is as good as VPs Nitro Supply
* Tony will now be bunched in with the mere mortals that have to actually hope for a good tune-up and drive like a pro when they miss a bit.
* There will be more money brought into the sport as a result of this and maybe we could even see major oil companies stepping up to sponsorships
* This sheik will be cursed by the naysayers and called every name from a terrorist to a camel jockey to the living end when his sponsorship ends as Evan Knoll could attest, despite his reasoning for leaving.
* If it proves to be "great fun" for the Arabs and Oil Men, NHRA will have a new buyer to court. Can you say two Bentleys?

The fact that AJ is saying ANYTHING this quickly leads me to wager he's going to pour cold water on the story.

It's a distraction DSR doesn't need in the countdown.

Unfortunately, I think the environment would be unfriendly to Middle East sponsorship right now no matter HOW MUCH money they bring to the sport - in fact there would be enormous resentment in proportion to the amount of money spent to buy a championship.

PS: I'm not suggesting such unfriendliness would be RIGHT - It isn't - but lots of folks wouldn't be able to identify Dubai or Saudi Arabia on a map and might tend to "lump 'em all together".
