I am sitting here reading the record runs the Pro Stock cars are making and wondering why we are not see the same thing from the nitro cars. According to NHRA.com>

According to Connie Kalitta, the reason the fuel cars are not running big MPH this weekend is due to the porosity of the track. The asphalt is not particularly dense, so Connie is saying that there's not as much rubber to bond to as would be optimal. They're spinning the tires on the big end.

Hmmm, will Virginia Motorsport Park up grade the asphalt for next years race, then they may hold all the world records?
