Jim Lovell, the Apollo 13 commander who uttered the immortal phrase, “Houston, we’ve had a problem” passed away today.
In 46 years of my work life, the only time I ever called in sick to work when I wasn’t actually sick was when Lovell, Fred Haise, the two survivors of the Apollo 13 incident and Gene Kranz, the Apollo flight director, gave a talk at The University of Arkansas about 10 years ago.
