I have only seen clips from the recent IHRA races so I can't be sure but it looks like there are hardly any fans in the grandstands and the pits. would like to hear from someone who was at a race on the number of people in attendance...
Watching the YouTube feed, they never looked more than 30-40% full. Maybe they were 10 deep at the fence or riding the Ferris Wheel. These are from first round top fuel.
Anyone needing their Reinhart fix can find him at the NHRA Divisional Event in Lebanon Valley this weekend. Good to hear him on the mike again thought the turnout of alcohol cars there is embarrassing. I was thinking of going but I'm not sitting in 90 plus degrees for 5-6 total alcohol cars.

Many were walking the pits. Majority stayed after the rain. Clean up was quick considering the amount of rain and the low spot on the track. We left around 11, still many cars in parking lot.
I know of a few that were dusting their funny cars off for the race at Empire. Just like with some of the nitro cars, they weren't running much due to the cost versus return. Really hope the IHRA keeps things figured out because I think it has been a real boost to alcohol racing. I'd love to see those classes start growing again.
