I would imagine not since she was in Cunningham's car about 15 years ago.
That car - and her - have been off their game going back to Gainesville. Top speeds aren't off much if any, meaning the power is there - but the car itself was a turd in the front half, off anywhere from .060 to .080 at the 60, 330 and 660 compared to the leaders in all 4 qualifying rounds this weekend. 4 wide can be tricky but Erica's been around long enough to have it figured out. It's just qualifying but her lights were all mid 0.60s-mid 0.80s. Looking back over the last 3 races, her lights and the car's performance just hasn't jelled at all.

Every prominent drag racer deals with slumps now and then. They'll figure it out but still, I can't help but wonder if Elite has spread itself a bit too thin.

"Looks like much better conditions today. Should be some good racing".

Well, that turned out to be an incorrect prediction I made, as the racing was about as bad as the qualifying. Is there a track prep issue with Vegas, for some reason?

Good to see Tony Stewart win his first drag race. I could imagine him getting frustrated with going out early since the driver has so little control over the outcome of a drag race. It is good for drag racing to have him in the sport, so winning once in a while should keep his fire lit.

i'm sorry, i recorded the race, and could barely watch it with fast forwarding. so much crap filled in everywhere.
so many aborted runs. so hard to concentrate on 4 cars. announcers making occasional mistakes who was advancing.
tony's first win was the ONLY thing that excited me in entire broadcast.

not sure who created the entry to broadcast, but it is different, with a 'radio' voice painting the picture of the race (this has been used previously)
IMO it's production value is very good and does a great job introducing the race. a keeper for sure.

I recorded and started watching later. My fast forward finger got a workout.

4-wide staging question: is this correct?
after all 4 racers prestage. 1st racer turns on stage light, then 2nd racer turns on stage light.
after the 2nd racer stages, the 7 second countdown to green begins.
the 3rd and 4th driver to stage technically have less than 7 seconds to stage and see green, or wait too long and be timed out.
the racers need to be ready for green after 2 of 4 stage lights are lit.

also noticed courtney was doing nhra color @ top end yesterday. could see her swooping in for interview as bruno
was finishing up his fox interview.

7 second clock starts as soon as the first person goes in, provided they didn't double bulb.

in pro stock 4 wide staging, let's say if you have a performance disadvantage and have to resort to trickery. Seems to me if you immediately go in and double bulb everyone,
then as soon as one of the other three cars pre stages the counter begins and you also start a 7 second count in your head. There's a good chance that since you staged so early, time will expire before all of the other 3 cars are fully staged and someone will be timed out. you can have rpms raised and prepared to launch because the tree always activates at the 7 second mark if someone times out !!

And then, the fight starts at the top end.

4 wide is hard to follow, but my biggest problem is, there is very little electronic displays to help with the confusion. It took 3 or 4 races before i could figure the finish order for a quad. As far as the starting line goes, i had no clue what was going on during staging, as those 'omega' shaped LEDs are hard to make out from a distance and angle
