The Scrapper car did it first. I'm sorry to see it shut down. Jaz was 5th in the points and cutting great lights before the car got shut down.304.94 at the 660' is even more impressive to me.

That’s not the point IMO. These days records are broken by thousandths of a second and tenths of a mph. How long did it take from the first 299 at the 1/8 till we got 300? I think it was close to 8 years! Now Grubnic jumps it 5 mph? That’s crazy stuff. The Scrapper car did it first.
My favorite jump was when the record was 308 and LaHaie and Scott went 316!That’s not the point IMO. These days records are broken by thousandths of a second and tenths of a mph. I think you’ve taken in too many nitro fumes. There were tons of runs in between the cars going 308 and 315+. Kenny Bernstein did it twice in one day at the World Finals. 311 and 314.My favorite jump was when the record was 308 and LaHaie and Scott went 316!
I wonder if all those who dislike the 1/8 mile still feel that way now, lol..... just stirring the pot a little!304.94 at the 660' is even more impressive to me.

DA was 358 last night. Had the ambient temp been a bit warmer (58, track 75) I think we would have seen several low/mid 3.60 times.Incredible. Must be really good weather and the closeness to sea level there. Good for them!
No need to be concerned over something that's never going to happen.Screw your 8th mile,if they change to that im done. I dont even support local 8th mile,if your a 1/4 mile track run qtr mile, except for fuel cars
I'm impressed with Tony Stewart, period.Speed wins rounds. Consistency wins championships. I’m more impressed with Tony Stewart’s consistency this year.
I hear ya...at age 13 I was a big drag racing fan and when I heard our local racer Eddie Hill ran 202 with his twice-engined AA/GD I nearly lost my mind. That was 63 years ago.I know just how OLD I am ALANwhen, I remember at Lions hearing from the announcer yelling WOW 150 mph for a dragster.
