NHRA announced weeks ago that it is putting Pomona back where longtime drag racing fans remember it in 2027: at both ends of the schedule.

The first thought that popped into my head was the possibility of a night time qualifying and eliminations. I also wondered if maybe that opened up a weekend to squeeze Maple Grove into an open May date.

IMO the start in february is too early. lots of big gaps all the way thru may.
why not start in pomona in early march, then phoenix, and gators moves to early april and charlotte mid april.
i do like the idea that a gap might be for a potential return of maple grove at some point?

I like that Pomona is the only double up. There are enough tracks that are National event caliber that we don't need two races at any track.

I've always thought there was no reason to make sure they were not on the same day.
