1979 T/F Champs Nightmare

Injustice is injustice, Mel.....

Yup ... And as a Las Vegas, Nevada taxpayer, it will wind up costing me either way. To me, the point is not who they falsely arrest, it is that they do it in the first place and leave the rest of the citizenry holding the bag without serious repercussions for the offending officers. Before towing ANY man's car and hauling ANY man off to jail, they better be sure they got the right guy. If that means having the dispatcher/supervisor double check your work, then so be it. The cop on the video said he believed them and sent them to jail any way ... how freaking dumb are you policeman?!?! I understand that the computer in the cop car has taken a lot of discretion and logic out of the equation, they are basically going to do whatever the computer tells them, but still ... call it in again, get another set of eyes looking at things.

I wonder if everyone would be this outraged if the driver in the same situation was a rapper....
If this was a rap music forum or even a pop culture forum, there probably would be. As this is a drag racing forum, with a story about a former drag racer, there's outrage local to this website because of the familiarity of the person involved. It's all subjective. Unless I'm misinterpreting. Surely we must be talking about Eminem, The Beastie Boys, House of Pain, Vanilla Ice, etc.?

You just said The Beastie Boys and Vanilla Ice int he same sentence. That is a music red light.

I suspect the Rev. Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton would have already stirred it into a major national event with media coverage on every tv channel. They would be trying to burn down the city.
Well then, don't give Jesse or Al any matches... :D

I'm assuming that's who "they" are...
