1000' and some teams (1 Viewer)

i really wish they'd have mixed it up for the rest of the year
and ran 1000 at some and 1320 at tracks that have the space.

They are illegal in many classes. I know they are in the Super classes (what we run), and I believe they are in the fuel classes, but I can't find my rule book...

Yeah, that would leave a lot more opportunity for a "creative person" to work outside the intent of the rules.

No they don't. Only at 660 and at the finish line. They can only extrapolate the other interval MPH using their data recorders. They are already going 273-280at 660 feet and the next interval to 1000 feet is 20 feet longer than the 1000 to 1320 interval. In the UK the interval is set @ 990 feet (3/16 mile) which makes more sense as it is halfway between 1/8 mile and a 1/4 mile.

So what are you getting at then, whats wrong?

The tracks timing equipment only gives MPH at 1/2 track and the finish line.

Well what i was getting at is these crew chiefs are sharp, I'm sure they know about what speed they were running before speed sensor was placed at 1000', they're running 280's at 660'.

Yes Paul is correct, these cars do have front wheel speed sensors.

When we crashed the car at Milan, MI. It blew up at 309mph.
