BROWNSBURG, Ind. (June 16, 2010) - Cory McClenathan and the FRAM Top Fuel Dragster team almost set a national elapsed-time record (racing to 1000 feet) last weekend in Englishtown, N.J., after establishing a 3.752-second run. As temperatures rose on Saturday and Sunday at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, they were unable to back it up by one percent for the record. If conditions warrant this weekend at the 10th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway, they just might go for it again. "We have a great car," said McClenathan, who is third in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing class point standings. "We know it will run some killer ETs given the right conditions. If we can solidly get down the track in the first...

NORCO, Calif. (June 15, 2010) - Jack Beckman has always been an NHRA historian, often reciting facts and statistics drawn from the "old" days of the sport. As he heads to this weekend's 10th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway this weekend, he can't help but talk about this track's history and how neat it is to race there. "For me, as a racing historian, Bristol is one of those places that's got it all," said the driver of the Valvoline/Mail Terminal Services Dodge Charger which will feature a tribute to the troops in Afghanistan in its paint scheme. "It's got history. NHRA first went there in 1965 for what was then the Spring Nationals. NHRA left in 1967 and after the 1997 season the original track...

So, Hagan will feel very much at home this weekend at the 10th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. In the middle of hay-baling season on the farm, Hagan is also making hay on the NHRA circuit. So far, in his second year as a full-time pro Funny Car racer, he's won two national events in as many final rounds, claimed one pole position and set a national elapsed-time record. He stands third in the class point standings and is hoping for a...

He'd like to break that tie at this weekend's 10th annual event, the third of a string of four in a row in the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. For the NAPA AUTO PARTS Funny Car team this is an important time as Capps and crew chief Ed "Ace" McCulloch aim to be high in the top 10 in the standings when the Countdown to 1 playoffs begin for the final six races of the season. "We are right in the middle of this four-in-a-row stretch," said Capps, who is currently seventh in the rankings and still seeking his first...
