Love it - lived in Albuquerque for 18 years, sometimes wish I'd never left, and look forward to the Christmas visit with the Grandkids next month.

Yeah there's something to be said about the Land Of Enchantment !
I go as much as I can even if only for a couple of days.

Hoping to make it to Northern NM next spring or summer if I can figure out how to camp out of a vette! LOL
Nah I'm buying a Outback or something that won't leave me spinning my wheels .

Maybe Mountains besides the majestic view give the illusion of being closer to God , or maybe it is.
Either way it sure beats sand bars and willow trees on the Mississippi !

Hey, I know where Socorro and Isleta are!! Pass right by the casino on the way to Socorro from the ABQ airport. And I'll be doing again next year. Hey, Jenn, be on the lookout for the bowlers of America in Albuquerque next spring at the National Tournament. Some of the finest people you will ever meet outside of the Nitromater board, at least during the first week of April.;):)

Number 12 is so true. I was making fun of the yard that I saw in Socorro last year that was nothing but crushed rock. Told my friend that was a cheap and easy way to do yard work. Beats planting grass and planting grass and planting grass.....

Murdock.

If you passed by the casino, it's likely that you passed right by my house! I'm about six miles south of the casino.

We are encouraged to use xeriscaping because of the lack of water in the area during the summer months, but crushed rock is not the best place to play tackle football...  :p

How about The Frontier restraunt in ABQ on old route 66? Great cinamon rolls!

Yes! They were threatening to shut down because of the high crime rate, but most people complained too much and the UNM PD promissed more assistance so they are still up. I still hate going out there after dark when all the hobos come out but during the day it's a great place for a burger and a roll!

Jenn, they'll NEVER close the Frontier! I remember they tried closing at at 12 midnight on weekends because of fights and such. But that only lasted for 2-3 weeks before they got pressured to make it 24 hrs. again! ;)

Maybe that's what I was thinking. Banditos is a good place to eat too, the bandito guy is always passing out bandito bucks at UNM.

I gave this to a co-worker that is a lifer from there. Just moved about 2 years ago. He loved it...He has a friend next day him green chilies every now and then.

Those things eat good.:D
