<P>BROWNSBURG, Ind. (Aug. 22, 2008) – Don Schumacher announced today that XXX Racing Fuels has signed on as associate sponsor on the Schumacher Electric Suzuki Pro Stock Motorcycle ridden by Chip Ellis for the remainder of the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, beginning at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis on Labor Day weekend.
XXX Racing Fuels comes on board with Don Schumacher Racing in an attempt to raise awareness of the XXX non-leaded high-performance fuels it has created that produce virtually no carbon emissions. The company's goal is to make XXX Racing Fuels the first "green" racing fuel in the NHRA, beginning in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class in future years.
"By joining DSR we hope to brand XXX Racing Fuels in the NHRA and other racing venues as well," explained Thomas Goss, CEO and co-creator of XXX Racing Fuels. "We're extremely excited to join up with DSR and Chip Ellis. We enjoy Pro Stock Motorcycle racing, Chip Ellis is a great rider and a good friend, and we're happy to support his and DSR's racing efforts."
According to Goss, XXX Racing Fuels will work in a Pro Stock car or motorcycle engine and is compatible with any race engine that uses race fuel or gasoline, with minor tuning changes.
The fuel is currently in use by Del Flores, who races in the Real Street class in the AMA Dragbike Series, and by Supermoto dirt bike riders Robbie Horton (Silver Medal winner in the X-games 2008), Dalton Dimik and Matt Abbott.
Based in Macon, Ga., XXX Racing Fuels was developed by Goss and three of his family members, who are all racers. They spent two years performing background research and developing the manufacturing procedures before bringing their products to independent laboratory facilities to have their results confirmed.
"What we were looking for initially was consistency with fuel, especially oxygenated fuels," said Goss. "With the way that fuels are typically oxygenated they lose their oxygenation content and other different factors as soon as the seal on the can is broken, which causes inconsistencies with performance. We felt that the way of the future with any type of gasoline was to be unleaded. So, about two years ago we started research and development work on an unleaded gasoline that was consistent and would produce as much if not more horsepower than any of the leaded oxygenated fuel products available.
"The really great thing about it is that we burn all of the fuel so there are no residuals. Therefore, the emissions are clean. It's essentially a horsepower-producing, green racing fuel."
"We are proud to welcome XXX Racing Fuels to Don Schumacher Racing," said team owner Schumacher. "We will work closely with them to help raise the awareness of their remarkable product within the NHRA racing community."
XXX Racing Fuels will also be an associate sponsor on the Albrecht's Fast Track Suzuki ridden by Craig Treble under the DSR banner, beginning at the U.S. Nationals.
