SCHUMACHER ELECTRIC PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLES QUALIFY FIFTH AND TENTH AT FALL NATIONALS IN TEXAS

ENNIS, Texas (Sept. 20, 2008) – Both Schumacher Electric Suzuki Pro Stock Motorcycle riders qualified today for the 23rd annual NHRA Fall Nationals at the all-concrete surfaced Texas Motorplex. Chip Ellis earned the No. 5 position and Craig Treble No. 10 in the second of five races in the Countdown to 1 playoffs for the Pro Stock Motorcycle category.
Ellis rode the Schumacher Electric/XXX Racing Fuels Suzuki to an elapsed time of 7.004 seconds at 189.79 mph on his opening qualifying run to collect No. 5 in the 16-bike field. It was the 64th consecutive start for Ellis, who has qualified for every national event of his career and has started in the top half of the field at every Pro Stock Motorcycle event this season. Ellis' other runs included a 7.151/183.37 (No. 4), 7.055/188.04 (No. 4) and a 7.019/190.40 on his final run in the Texas heat.
Treble's quickest run on the Schumacher Electric/Albrecht's Fast Track Suzuki was also on his first qualifying attempt, posting a 7.055/189.50, which placed him No. 10 for eliminations. He also recorded runs of 7.154/182.45 (No. 8), 7.058/187.70 (No. 10) and 7.056/188.53 (No. 10). It's the 13th time that Treble has qualified this season and the 148th time he's entered Sunday's eliminations.
CHIP ELLIS, Schumacher Electric/XXX Racing Fuels Suzuki Pro Stock Motorcycle (No. 5): "The bike ran great today," said Ellis, who entered the event No. 6 in the points. "We picked up our performance in the heat by four-hundredths of a second today. The Schumacher Electric/XXX Racing Fuels Suzuki is going to run great tomorrow and all the guys are fired up for eliminations and I just can't wait. I'm ready to go for first round."
Ellis will have lane choice over No. 12 qualifier Joe Desantis in round one of eliminations.
CRAIG TREBLE, Schumacher Electric/Albrecht's Fast Track Suzuki Pro Stock Motorcycle (No. 10): "We had a bracket bike out there this weekend," said Treble, who is No. 9 in the points. "(Crew chief) Steve Tartaglia had an awesome tune-up in the Schumacher Electric/Albrecht's Fast Track Suzuki on that last qualifying run and unfortunately I kind of bobbled the gear changes. I could have ridden better on that last run. I felt really comfortable on the bike today and my lights have been pretty good and I'm happy about that. Hopefully I can do it four times tomorrow."
Treble will square off against No. 7 qualifier Angelle Sampey in round one of eliminations.
