Would You Want To Race at MIR?

That strip is a palace compared to Thermo California I raced at years ago. No guard rails, the track surface had cracks. the injected gas dragster racing association were paid to run there. Every one said this does not look safe. I said its not that bad, I said it should be ok. they said OK YOU make the first run. I did and said to them NO PROBLEM. so they ran their cars and they all wanted to kill me after words.

That race is always a carnage fest. That's why I wait until the end of the weekend to watch the highlights. All of those cars looked like they were crashing before the top end. I would love to go back to MIR. We set the IHRA speed record there in 2006.

bob, i that first video, the last incident was grannas racing's supra that turned hard rite across lane into opponent.
not sure if you're familiar with recent grudge race with grannas/cleetus at bradenton, that resulted from a race the previous nite;
anyways, this MIR incident lit up the interweb with not so nice comments, although some of them were funny.

Yeah Grannas didn’t help himself with all the online crap talk with Cletus and then more trash talk after he lost the race to Cletus. But I have to hand it to the guy, he donated all the proceeds from his merch sales to the guy he crashed in to, $40,000.

Me either. I admire their passion and some of those cars are way faster than one would guess.
When you watch an event like this, you can't help but think how well run NHRA national events are.
