No one is safe there, as Goldberg said, who's next. But the free ice...... I pray that Maple Grove doesn't go down with the ship.
Not a lot of employees are going to put up with that kind of “leadership” unless they don’t have other options or IHRA is paying them a fortune.
I'm glad he got out when he did, I bet he is too...The article omits Alan R.
This is not surprising to me. This whole IHRA/Darryl Cuttel situation is really a sham. IHRA is buying up all these large tracts of real estate under the guise of renovating them to be operated as profitable drag racing venues, when ultimately these large tracts of land will be turned into warehouses, housing developments, Data centers or other non-dragracing facilities. IHRA/Cuttel is being used as a pawn in this land grab scheme. Mark my words, drag racing is not the best most profitable utilization of these large parcels of real estate.Haven't they fired several track operators as well? How long before good people are afraid to take a chance on working for them?
Ok, you have a valid observation but if that was the case, Wouldn't it be more feasible to buy closed or abandoned shoping malls and not put a dime into them until it was time to convert them? There are tons of them and the square footage would be perfect. Oh did I mention that the structure is already there and it would be smack dab located in the grid to tap into? He also bought into the drag boat racing but he doesn't own the water. What do you build on there if you don't own it??This is not surprising to me. Malls are usually in more populated and developed areas. The towns they are in may not look too kindly on data centers or warehouses. Particurly not with the current trend of redeveloping malls into a mix of retail/housing/restaurants/office space.Ok, you have a valid observation but if that was the case, Wouldn't it be more feasible to buy closed or abandoned shoping malls and not put a dime into them until it was time to convert them? True, but many malls are in totally commercial/industrial zoned areas already. They already have water and sewer taps, which can easily be upgraded as needed. And, it wouldn't take much to pretty them up. For example, albeit much cheaper, many cell towers around the country are built to look like trees, and unless you are looking closely, you'd not catch it.Malls are usually in more populated and developed areas. My guess is his “plan A” it to have a successful drag racing series, and if that fails, “plan b” is the warehouse/data center idea. He has probably seen, thru his business of installing equipment in warehouses, how profitable the development of those warehouses is. So he could move up the food chain from installing equipment to actually building the facility and then having his existing company profit install equipment.Interesting.....hmmmm
This is the first I've seen confirming Alcohol classes to the quarter-mile at the Triple Crown. Have been on the fence on heading to Maple Grove Memorial Day weekend, but this might lock it into the yes column.not exactly a list of 'property developers'
