Woodruff Fired

Haven't they fired several track operators as well? How long before good people are afraid to take a chance on working for them?

IMO working for a business man like Darryl if you do not produce at his level you are gone. I worked for a man who built up a 150 million a year business, he expected everyone to perform 24/7/365 like him. Unfortunately the employees are gong to try for a while then owner wants more then it usually ending bad for them.
I made it 5 years only because I was employed by the company but was working on his "personal fun" projects. It was not unusual for him to call at 2am because he thought of something.
The other thing he did to managers, dangle the carrot, keep them chasing it but not quite getting it, then fire them and bring in a new sucker. I watched this happen over and over for the 5 years I was there, I actually worked for him about 7 years, 2 of which were on his personal residence, that was how we met.
He did with every aspect of his life.

To even suggest that someone like Scott Woodruff did not produce at the highest level is wrong. Scott is one of the best in the business.

Is Cuttell demanding? Or is he unfocused, mercurial, and constantly changing direction?

It is not hard to work for a demanding boss if they are clear in their direction and stick to their plan.

article also states doug foley jr. takes over the COO position ..... related to his departure from driver's seat?
you can fire people via a text now? what is this world coming to

You can also break up with someone or notify them of a divorce. Announce all sorts of plans,

Brett Underwood got fired yesterday too. Though he apparently got a phone call from Leah Martin at least. I tell you what, Woodruff (and his wife) are PISSED and not afraid to share their feelings about IHRA and the people running it on social media. He has the respect of a lot of important people in this sport and I think this particular action by IHRA is doing a ton of damage to their reputation.

Read through the social media posts and it appears that there's been a difference in visions between them for a while. Scott has a well-deserved reputation but ultimately, it's DC's money. I'm guessing there's a bit more to this than we've seen but it's apparent they weren't a good fit and Scott and his wife have little respect, maybe well deserved, for Darryl and some of the other people involved - more than just from being mad about getting fired. Hopefully Scott will find something else soon and have continued success. Whether it works out for them or not, if the IHRA's vision of what it wants to accomplish is different than his, they are better off just going their separate ways.

It would be one thing if this was an isolated incident, but at this point it's a clear pattern. IHRA has run through a lot of people, several of them respected and knowledgeable racing people. If their business model (whatever it actually is) is so drastically different from anything done in the past that anyone with prior involvement in the sport simply can't function within it, you'd think they would have figured that out about a year ago and adjusted their hiring.

All these people leaving other positions and coming on board only quit or be fired in months leads me to believe that the type of organization being "sold" to potential employees is not what they find when they get on board and see behind the curtain. Which starts to kind of erode the credibility of the whole thing.

With every firing of an experienced Drag Racing employee, the IHRA takes a hit in reputation, and future success. I'm start to think D.C. doesn't understand that this sport/business of drag racing runs on people , and respect for the employees experience and cooperation with them is needed. He can't pull this off by himself. His investment and money are crucial , but if you can't retain any proven people , I don't see how it works. Racers want to see familiar faces , before they commit to running your races. Are Josh Hamming and Larry Morgan still on board ?
