I have a question, and it was discussed briefly amongst us Maters during said oil downs, why can't ANYONE catch a frickin' T Shirt shot out the GEICO/Full Throttle air gun thingy??? It ALWAYS winds up on the ground while a rugby scrum breaks out to get the T Shirt. I don't get it. You see people snare screaming line drives or homerun balls bare handed/one handed at baseball games ALL THE TIME ... but no one at a National Event can catch a T shirt!?!?!

:D

After all the races I've been to, I actually caught a T-shirt in 2007 at Memphis. Of course it deflected off the guy's hands behind me and fell right to me. And on the original subject of this thread, in 1996 I went to 5 races. In 4 of the 5 the first pair of top fuel cars on Sunday oiled down the track causing lengthy delays. It happens, nature of the beast.

I have seen many T/F sessions @ Sacramento go past 2 hours. Many don't, some do. It usually depends on how far into the season you are, and how used up parts are...maybe not.

I totally agree, BTW! Nostalgia is where the show is. I run a 7.0 Pro/NE 1 car, so you are preaching to the choir.

Nice ride, Gregory!

Do you drive the car or does someone else? I was on Vintage Fuel's website where they're tracking points between your organization and ours (NPCA Pro Comp 1), but I didn't see your name on the list.

Thanks. I tried to make the CHRR for the first race with 7.0. I missed. so the March Meet with be my first time driving in 7.0.

We ran A/F for a while (that picture) with an AJ motor in it, it is back to a small chevy now.

And Yup. Anything and everything will happen in T/F, be it Nostalgia or big show. That is part of the draw. I was just making a joke that some NT/F sessions seem to go forever. This year, however, i think most were very good.

Umm pardon me????....would you care to elaborate on that or would you just like me to explain why it's vastly incorrect

Hey look at this,,,Greg Means has MM up on the tire. I told you that Pipe Rack would be trouble Greg! :p :D :D

I knew he meant NTF, but I aint saying anything as I know how big Brad Thompson is!!!! ;)

Rapid

It was quite unusual for that to happen twice with the same car, at least a car of that caliber. I guess that's why Joe was saying WTF. You might expect it from another car.
And yeah, what's up with Schumacher oiling down on Sunday , a half hour delay at least I think, the day after he told us in the Club Nitro tent the 1000' change was preventing oil downs.

Wuzzup Rapid. You have to come west in March to see me squeeze in/out of this motor stand on wheels.

I will be there. Bringing my suit and helmet hoping somebody with a funnycar has an open seat. ;) :D

Exactly. If it was Ers or someone like that, you'd think, well, OK. But for someone who rarely does it to do it twice... that was quite unusual.

Has anyone thought that this might have been an attempt at a more aggressive 1000' tuneup? AJ's tuneup has (I believe) lost a total of ONE ROUND since the advent of 1000' racing. If you were a crew chief, I would think you might want to be figuring something out to go against Al-Anabi next year!

I believe that Erbacher, now that they are trudging threw their learning curve and with Wayne's guidance is close to 30 passes in a row without incident.

That's pretty good for a relatively new team that only has 5 official races within their own Continent where the brain trust is not quite the same as it is here in the States.

And Jim, I think you might be on to a valid observation. ttyl

Here is a thought, lets have them develop a new TF engine that uses no oil:rolleyes: That ought to keep this new alien pres. happy. No wait, he will be even happier when he bans racing alltogether to save fuel. Then he can say look what I have accomplished, no more oil spills!! Sorry had to rant while listening to the election results:mad::mad::mad:

You are correct, I apologize that his was the one name I could come up with. He and Wayne have done well lately. I should have found a more appropriate example.
