Everybody thinks Hour long delays are no biggy till they have to sit through them! I don't recall any of the DSR, JFR, Pedregon, Worsham teams doing this! Sounds like they have a problem over there!

this happens to everyone at some point and time or another Joe, Come on, you know that. Besides all the great photography, you've been to how many races over how many years and have chatted with how many people on teams???????? (just have to give you some crap LOL!!)

Lets see...Lee Beard has over 30 years of experience...how many years do i have? *thinks* yeah I think I'm going to get on a forum and talk smack on one of the greatest crew chiefs out there right now, even though I dont know what happened before, during or after the run (sarcasm)...Yeah sounds pretty darned smart to me.

It was a disaster..

Looks like snow- And this was after they already went over it once. I have not seen anything like what happened there in YEARS.

This happened twice last year on the east coast both lanes got sprayed by one car at 2 different races we were at. It happens. It's no fun for anyone when it does, for a crew, it means a lot of additional work. For NHRA, it means a lot of additional work, but it's our drug of choice and it beats the heck outta sitting in a cubical or digging ditches any day of the week.

And it wouldn't be anywhere near so painful if someone would kidnap the Geico/Powerade idiots, duct tape them up, and hide them in a porta-potty somewhere... :)

I have a question, and it was discussed briefly amongst us Maters during said oil downs, why can't ANYONE catch a frickin' T Shirt shot out the GEICO/Full Throttle air gun thingy??? It ALWAYS winds up on the ground while a rugby scrum breaks out to get the T Shirt. I don't get it. You see people snare screaming line drives or homerun balls bare handed/one handed at baseball games ALL THE TIME ... but no one at a National Event can catch a T shirt!?!?!

And it's not only fuel tuners that need to be thrown under the bus ... Mike Berry's broken crank in PSB round one brought the show to a lengthy halt as well. And while we're at it, how about Mother Nature ... Vegas is the desert ... several rain delays on Saturday was just ridiculous. NHRA should give Mother Nature a talkin' to about that nonsense. I am thinking at least a one race probation until she proves she won't wet down the racing surface. :D

A guy behind me caught a shirt, It barely went over my fingers. He was about 6'3 and 275 or so, and the shirt was a small!!

$100k fine to her?

I'd like to KNOCK OVER that Afghani Space Shuttle, with them in it, or better yet, blow it up. I am not advocating violence on them, but DAMN they are the model of annoyance aren't they? When they throw stuff into the crowd and whoop and holler it up like crazed idiots at a Hanna Montana concert, I want to return fire... by throwing hammmers back at 'em. "Hey catch THIS Powerade waterheads!!"

you owe me a keyboard, put the monster down, ease up on the caffiene!!!!

It was a long oildown, but I met 2 people from Belgium, and 1 guy from Canada, had great conversation with all!

Put some of the yellow stuff in the tank, and then hope and pray that everything stays together, with anything mechanical, things can go wrong, it's racing!!

I would let Lee Beard tune my car any day.

Nancy I beg to differ, it's been a long time that I've seen one car spill they're guts like that! I don't remember any Alky car do that in years, not twice in one race I haven't!

happened in Norwalk last year, 2 alky dragsters in a row, (we were in the lanes for 1st round) and then 1 time in the same session (1st round) of alky f/c. about a 2 1/2 hour session total, and 2 times last year in f/c East Coast. Oh, 1 more, dallas this year, they rolled the trucks 3 passes in a row for first round of Top Fuel that was at least 30 to 45 minutes in between passes. It does happen, just maybe not at races that you're at.

Are you still Grouchy Joe? :D:D:D

Charles, I agree!

I believe it may have something to do with the amount of alcohol involved (and not in the cars...) :)

Nancy I was referring to one racer, not different cars. Yes I saw Ken Perry have a 1 hr. clean-up at Indy 2-3 years ago, and Bobby Bennett wrote an article on his website about it! Anyone remember how bad Luigi Novelli got burned on here about his explosion on the Starting line at Brainerd a couple of years ago? I guess if it doesn't happen on Sunday we can't complain I guess...

Umm pardon me????....would you care to elaborate on that or would you just like me to explain why it's vastly incorrect

I think there were some issues at Firebird MM... and that is NOT the norm for N/FC... In the Mid West or out East

freakin' Left Coast Cars:eek::rolleyes:
