?? are you saying it was set up? or are you saying that as clay struggled thru qualifying, after running so well lately, that any first round opponent of clays
would potentially have their hands full having to run an extremely fast car?
I would guess Ashly's team backed it down a little anticipating Clay to not perform as he hadn't got down the track all weekend.

Rumor is that the Kalita Chassis' aren't as good as the others.

I wondered about that last year when they did so poorly, Flynn was fired and Aaron Brooks couldn't make Doug's car run either. Apparently AJ made lots of chassis changes last winter but it's still not working. You wouldn't think it would be so difficult to copy other chassis. Not many independent builders left after Swindal, Hadman, etc. left. What would someone like Crampton do differently ?

The latter. It's terminology I've seen used in the NBA and the NFL. Underestimating your opponent and playing down to them or what I believe: Your opponent being better than what they have shown and finally figuring it out against you.

There's a new player in the chassis game. Joe and Dan who were with DSR for many years opened their own shop. They are right in the middle of the action on Southpoint Circle. It's called Precision Built Race Cars and they have started doing cars and updates for a few of the teams.

I think they under estimated the track, and it ran through the clutch. No way they went up there to run .75

332 mph pretty good speed for a car that's run through the clutch 🤷‍♂️

Speed is not a good measure for that. A 2.155 330' is. He was 2.10 in Q4 in worse conditions. Ether way I don't think 3.75 was the goal.
