In 1977, Wild World of Sports included a pair of top fuelers shot from the top end at the U.S. Nationals in the classic "Spanning the globe, to bring you the constant variety of sports..." show opening.

If you think Paul Page makes you pull your hair out, when ABC Sports had their first, second, and third string announcers along with the water boy all somewhere for the winter Olympics they put Reggie Jackson (great car collector and ball player, lousy sportscaster) into the primary role of the Winternationals broadcast.

Think fingernails on blackboard meets cat under the hood of a car being started on a cold winter morning and you MIGHT get close to the pain inflicted on viewers.
