Which tracks need better surrounding infrastructure? (11 Viewers)

Which tracks could use better local infrastructure, aka more or better roads? Are there places where ir you're not there 2-3 hours early, you're missing action?

I suppose local infrastructure could also include parking, lodging, enough restaurants in addition to not having everyone filter down to a two lane road for example.

I've been to 27-28 different dragstrips, raced 19. The only one I despise driving into is Maple Grove. I'm still mind blown at how they get those trailers to the track. It's challenging enough with a dually and a 42' Chaparral.

As far as lodging, MIR is a little rough if you're towing the trailer. Not many places to accommodate you if you're pulling. Much easier if you can leave the trailer at the track.

Yes, although about 20 miles north of Bakersfield in the middle of farm fields and with no need to worry about urban encroachment, Famoso Dragstrip doesn't have any amenities close by. Need ice, 5 miles down the road. Need to run to a parts store, 10 miles further down the road. Want to have a causal dinner with friends at the closest Denny's, 19 miles down the road where they have several hotels. But not much else.

Agree on Maple Grove - those winding roads (although pretty) are the PITS!

Agree about Maple Grove. I've been there once and only as a fan - not a racer with a rig. I stayed at an RV Park 10+/- miles away. Twisty 2 lane country road access. Getting in and out was a total PIA. I won't go there again.
