Where can you race these days in California?

To your point Rich, Sacramento and Famoso are pretty much the only two choices for a show like yours. Maybe Sears Point, but you'd likely need to be booked in with other loud cars for that weekend.

It's really a shame that NASCAR forced the drag strip from it's original spot at California Speedway. Noise issues didn't become evident until the move to the north side of the property.

Barona...chute out on time!

Like I said, things have changed a bunch since you've been there. I heard that the chippie retired after his RG adventure:D

Yeah, unfortunately that's the point, it's either Bakersfield or Sacramento. Sacramento isn't interested in doing much of anything any more and nobody can get a call back from Famoso. There are a couple of racers in the LA area that run Pacific ProComp. One is Steve Laburn and the sad thing is with out a race in Bakersfield or Sac, he really has no options.

Why did they approve it in the first place only to shut it down! Makes NO sense!

It wasn't NASCAR's decision, it was to make room for the Wolfgang Puck Food Experience... and the old track location had a lousy shutdown area with stacks of tires. :(

For those who feel that we are doomed, here is another option in the works; Wix.com racelomopoc2 created by ivanskis based on Blank Website

It isn't ideal, but at least someone is out there trying instead of feeling sorry for themselves. I say get out and show some support to this and other projects like it. I google this and found a facebook page, you can too.

Keep looking up and stay positive. Happy 4th of July and may God Bless us all.
