The first race I ever attended was a sprint car race in Yakima, Washington that my great grandmother took me to when I was about six years old. But I also lived in California for awhile as a kid in the 1960's. A friend of mine's dad was into restoring cars and therefore my friend also had an interest in cars and racing. When I was in junior high we went out to the local dragstrip specifically to see Little Red Wagon who was making an appearence. I thought Little Red Wagon was pretty cool, but not nearly as cool as the dragsters I saw that day for the first time. After that we used to go to the track frequently. A couple of years later my family moved back to Washington and I would attend the local drag races from time to time. But it was only after moving to Western Washington in the 1980's that I really got back into watching the drags again.
