PJ, I tried to make it clear back in post number four that I do not agree with NHRA's policy of fineing competitors. NHRA always claims they're trying to keep the cost down for the racers, yet they fine them most every chance they get.
1) it doesn't hurt the well-funded teams.
2) it puts undue hardship on the low funded teams.
My suggestion is, if you feel the need to punish, then suspend them from a race, or two or five depending on the violation.
Don't misunderstand, I'm a fan of Alan Johnson, and his father. But that childlike behavior in the shutdown area was totally uncalled for. He may have got a lot of TV time, but he lost a lot of respect.
I guess it all comes down to what you're looking for in our sport, if you want WWE on wheels, well you got what you wish for this week. Maybe next week we can have the runner up, get out of his car and threw his helmet at the Winning driver ...... just a thought.
