Welcome Back Topeka!

Maybe some people aren't aware that Topeka is a multipurpose track, it was not built as just a Drag Strip.
I spent some of my time promoting and getting track built and i can tell you it never would have been approved unless it was multipurpose. I'm hoping with new owners that.a cross over will be built at the end of track to help pedestrian ( fans ) traffic. In my opinion it can be the best track in NHRA with a little improvement.

True as far as tracks go, but the fact of the matter is NHRA has too many races! With the sponsor environment drag racing is up against, 23-24 races is way to many!
Here are some of the numbers for the 2015 schedules.
-----------------------------------------------------------
70 races---World of Outlaw sprint car series
36 races---Nascar Sprint Cup series
24 races---Nhra drag racing series
19 races---F-1 series
18 races---Indy car series

I like Topeka, like the others it's my home track so there is some nostalgia there for me as I grew up racing there. As a fan (when I'm not racing) I agree it's spread out but I'm in good shape and don't mind the walk. Would be nice to have "rascal" rentals for less mobile fans. As a racer I like that it is spread out. The sportsman pits are all on their own, paved, and have nice showers and bathrooms....too far a walk for most fans so you can leave your stuff open and hang out with other racers (separated from the pro pits but the pro guys have RVs parked out there as well). Just drive the golf cart to the stands and pro pits to see the show and when your tired of the crowd head back to the relative calm and quiet of the sportsman pits. I also have done a couple track days on the road course with my sport bike...good times as well, as was mentioned, would have never went over in '88 if it wasn't a multipurpose facility.
