11.30 was the first call for Top Fuel; then "weepers" hit the top end of the drag strip. Top Fuel is in the lanes, while the Safety Safari continues to mop up. They are REALLY trying to get this in.
It started raining around 9:00 AM and quit for an hour mid day. I took my awning down just as a cel went through with wind, lightning and hail. It was 11:00 AM when they told the racers it was over for the day.
ironic isn't it that the last time NHRA raced in Pomona it was so hot and dry that half of So Cal was on fire. Fast forward 3 months and you couldn't light a brush fire to save your life.....
