Skilled lathe operators have almost been replaced by skilled CNC programmers/operators. I wonder what kind of salary they bring in?

I wonder if CNCs were around when Winberg and Bryant started out? It would be interesting to learn how billet cranks were made before CNC machining became popular. Cast cranks, too, at least the post cast machining.

Basically, each crank pin was lathed separately with each crank pin being the center of rotation, in turn. Talk about time consuming.
