Vote for Courtney

You do realize that a vote, and win, for Courtney also promotes the sport of drag racing in a nationwide sports publication?

The JFR hatred amazes me, sometimes.

Bernie, thats what I was hopeing for. We always yap about not getting coverage in mainstream media, well heres our chance. One doesn't have to be a fan of hers, just think of it as a vote for dragracing.

Bernie, I've got some time to type so please take the time to read.

I am a John Force hater when any of his cars is staged at the tree. Make no mistake about it. If a JFR car is racing Lex Luthor I pull for Lex. My reasons are DSR, Dodge, anti Ford stickers. However, John Force and his team are entertaining. Fun. Cool (Mike Neff). Thankfully we have John Force in drag racing. I hope John continues to stay young and drive for a long long long time.

I'm looking from the standpoint of giving 1 vote. I am voting Chase Elliott. Why? Cause I announce circle track races in the Southeast here. Worked with Chase on some PASS series events. The kid can really really drive. He too is working his way up the ladder.

Just my opinion, just my vote.

Courtney will be a star in this sport no matter. I think that is a given and we all know it.

Exactly..

You want to ensure that the NHRA keeps getting snubbed in national media? Don't vote for a driver when they give you the chance.

If you don't vote for Courtney, I don't want to hear about how bad you think the NHRA gets treated. If you don't support the sport when you get the chance, don't complain when they get buried beneath NASCAR.

Steve,

I always take the time to read a reply if someone has taken the time to thoughtfully type it out. So no worries, there.

I understand the JFR/DSR rivalry. It's like the Yankees/Red Sox. We're all entitled to root for who we choose. That being said, it does seem like there's more outspoken bitterness coming from DSR fans against JFR, than the other way around. JMO..

I just hope all DSR fans know the debt of gratitude they owe John Force. He has been the biggest, most visible star this sport has ever had. He's done a TON for the sport and continues to every day.

I see this as an opportunity to promote the sport of drag racing more than just promoting Courtney. It needs all the help it can get.

Bernie you do not have to fight the JFR battle with me. I know the guy is the man. I know there are fans that walk out of the drag strip if he goes out in 1st round. He is that big of a moving Force that gets folks to the strip regardless of if they have any knowledge of any other driver.

Chase's path to the top will be much different than Courtney's. And yes much harder.

Plus if my vote is just to promote the NHRA. Well I have never sat down with Courtney over lunch, chatted with Courtney, or interviewed Courtney after she fell out of the race early due to mechanical and she handled it with class.
I have with Elliott.

She'll win.

No problem, Steve. We both understand each other. :)

You voted for a stupid hillbilly NASCRAP driver instead of our Courtney?

Traiter.

As was said previously, don't b*tch and moan when NHRA is having trouble getting mainstream media play!

I didn't say anything about her being the queen. What I did say was that she's a representative of the NHRA. Is that not factual?

I voted for Courtney ... but I agree with Bullard that Chase Elliott's upside is WAY higher. But his path is much harder. I know Courtney will be in a winning car at the top level of our sport. There is no guarantee that Chase will get to the top level of that sport. I really wanna see Chase in a Truck or Nationwide series car before I could label him as the next great thing. Chase appears to have all the tools, but the water isn't very deep where he has been competing, especially when he has funding and engineering support from Hendrick, which automatically puts him miles ahead of his competition.

Look..I have no animosity towards Courtney. I have met and spoken with her, she seemed nice enough. But I think polls like this don't do a thing for drivers worth until they prove it on the track!

Wow, I voted for Chase too. I would be a traitor, except I stopped watching NHRA for the most part. You sound like a typical New Yorker...I'm from there myself.
