Don't know if anybody has mentioned this yet, but I-15 is down to two lanes in both directions between Lake Mead and US 95 due to a widening project that won't be finished until sometime next year. So give yourself a little extra time to get there. It might be a little slow through that stretch if you go that way.

See you there!

I-15's been jacked every year I've gone to Vegass North of the Spaghetti bowl. Same thing every year!

Straight up Las Vegas Blvd, lots of stop lights that way though (probably not quicker than sitting in traffic on I-15).

I was there for Hawley's class in late September, and on one day there was a mess in that construction. Heard it on the news in the hotel, so I took LV Blvd. and was there 1/2 hour before everyone -- including Frank. :)

So it can be viable. And the back entrance into the track (off LV Blvd.) isn't a bad way to get in there...

If driving in though, why go all the way to the middle? Why not take Boulder HWY to Nellis & then go north to Las Vegas Blvd? If you don't mind lights that is... Nellis has a few but it shouldn't take that long.

That is the way I'm goin!!! Great minds think alike!;)

Listen to Mrs. Sams... She is wise in the ways of the vegas roads!

Guess i've only been there for the Street Car Supernationals and the Division 7 races since every time i've been able to drive to the track at whatever the car will do (stupid 110mph speed limiter!) And made it from Primm to the track in 25 minutes to a half hour each morning. But those races didn't have many spectators (I think they'd all fit in a shuttle bus)

How long should i expect it to take from Fremont St into the parking lot?

Disclaimer:
closed course professional driver ...of course... don't try this at home
Always observe all posted speed limits, buckle up , etc...

I always get off at Craig Rd. East to Lamb, then South to E.Charleston. I-515 exit is right there!

Uhhhhh .... what?

You can get off Craig ... you can head east to Lamb ... but if you go south to Charleston you are going away from the track, and at Lamb and Charleston you will be sorta near Nellis Blvd (and not in a very nice neighborhood).

If you get off at Craig, go east to Las Vegas Blvd (right by Nellis AFB Gate) then go North on Las Vegas Blvd to LVMS. BUT If the traffic is clear at Craig on I-15 ... there is no reason to get off I-15 at Craig ... just continue on I-15 and you will be at LVMS in less than 5 minutes ...

515 does not go East of I-15 on the North side of town.

That settles it. We're taking a helicopter. Greggo, you're bringing it in your carry-on, right?

Chris, I was talking about Leaving the Track! lol:p

The quickest way on surface streets is Desert Inn which crosses the strip (Off Paradise) and then it turns into Lamb as it crosses Bolder Hwy, or turn right on Sahara (2 traffic signals or 4 blocks) to Nellis (Wave as you go by where I live 3 blocks west of Nellis and Sahara). North on Nellis or North on Lamb. Lamb is slightly slower than Nellis. That is the quickest method of travel on surface streets. If you love traffic tie ups stick on the 515 to the track.

Nellis would be a good choice as many have said if you are on that side of town, there is a little jam up near Boulder highway due to some underground work, but it's not that bad.
