Valvoline Racing Aligns with Successful, High-Profile Partners

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 12, 2008) -- The Valvoline racing program for the 2008 season will include technical partnerships with a number of top-tier teams and drivers in NASCAR and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).

The iconic motor oil and lubricant brand, which has been involved in auto racing for more than 100 years, will showcase a powerhouse lineup of partners, including Gillette Evernham Motorsports and Roush Fenway Racing in NASCAR and the elite NHRA professional teams of Don Schumacher Racing and David Powers Motorsports.

Headlining the Valvoline team of drivers are NASCAR Cup champion Matt Kenseth of Roush Fenway Racing, reigning and five-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Tony Schumacher and four-time NHRA champ Gary Scelzi. Schumacher and Scelzi are part of the seven-driver team for Don Schumacher Racing.

The Valvoline racing program will also include a primary sponsorship in selected Sprint Cup races on the No. 10 Gillette Evernham Dodge Charger, driven by Patrick Carpentier, and a full-season sponsorship on the Don Schumacher-owned Funny Car of Jack Beckman.

Valvoline will continue its long-standing association in the NHRA Sportsman ranks, known as drag racing's grassroots division.
