Oh man. It would be great if Tulsa gets a National event.
The track itself is plenty long. The shutdown area has a gentle rise in elevation, which really helps slow the cars.
The pit area would benefit greatly from better, and more, paving.
The property looks to have plenty of room to expand their infrastructure.
It would be nice if they put the awnings back on the spectator bleachers like they had when I first went there for the National Challenges in ‘72 and ‘73.
The sun gets tough starting in May and goes through at least September. The shade really helps.
But, wouldn’t you know it; before I retired and moved to north central Arkansas I lived in northwest Arkansas. It was an easy 1.5 hour drive on four lane all the way to the track from my house. Now it’s about a 5 hour drive, with three of those on 2 lane roads.
I hope they get the race.
