I think that Tony is frustrated that it is harder to win than what he expected. You need 3 things to win: 1 great tune up, 2 great driver, 3 luck. He hasn't had the luck. His personalty is not good, he just gets into his van and leaves. No interview. Not good.

Tony Stewart getting a mic (or camera) shoved in his face when he is not happy is usually not a recipe for a "happy" sound bite. Although it has given us some great quotes from him over the years.

You guys do realize how finicky fuel cars are, right? AJ didn't lose his touch, and nobody is going to hire a CC that will turn them into a title winner overnight, those days are gone. Refer back to AJ when he joined Kalitta.

Not sure what you've been watching this year, but it sure looks like he's lost his touch to me. All the best lose their way, Armstrong, Coil, Richards and so on. They almost always find their way back.

I (think) I know why Tony took Leah's seat in the Top Fuel car but there's a lot more involved in making the jump from TAD to TF than simply bolting on a supercharger. Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted and he's getting plenty of experience in that class. Stewart got a lot of exposure and positive press when he was doing his TAD thing and he was quite good at it. I wish he'd stayed there and hired a top-shelf TF pilot to drive Leah's car.

Tony did keep driving the A/FD. Matter of fact, he won the North Central Regional Championship this year.

That's where he locked it up. He won Indy, Columbus and was R/UP at Norwalk as well.

I agree; my suggestion for a hired gun is in the event Tony returned to driving the A/FD ONLY.

Good point. Now the next thing that will come into Tony's life will be fatherhood. And as all parents know that will be a sea change for him. All of a sudden racing will not be his only love. Everything changes and everyone reacts differently. Stay tuned....

And I don't think he had the slightest interest in having a kid at any time, let alone at 53 years old. But, no doubt that was a non-negotiable part of the package deal when he married Leah. Oh well, I hope it works out for him.

Stewart is brand new at this TF racing. You just don't jump in one of these cars and win everything. He has to give himself time. He'll be a major threat to the TF field in due time.

I don't have to know him personally. There have been a lot of interviews with him in the last 9 months to a year and he was quoted in one article I read that he never had any interest in having kids.
