Tough weekend doesn't discourage McMillen

MILAN, Mich. (September 24, 2007) - Terry McMillen, driver of the Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny and the Torco Nitro Top Fuel Dragster experienced one of those rare days that every drag racer dreams about. More like a nightmare actually, but a dream none the less.

McMillen, fresh of his second win at Toronto in the Foley / Lewis Torco Nitro Top Fuel Dragster, failed to qualify his hotrod. "It's about like a roller coaster ride sometimes," McMillen said. "It's the highest of highs and lowest of lows. And to think some people think this is fun all of the time," he joked.

While McMillen fell short of the field in his Torco powered Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny Car, he was encouraged at his final qualifying attempt. "We found a lot of power on that last run," McMillen said. "We spun the tires all the way through first gear and well into second gear. This car is ready to fly. We'll see what happens in Maryland."

McMillen makes his way to the Torco Race Fuels President’s Cup Nationals September 28-30 at the Maryland International Raceway. Along the way the Amalie Oil InstiGator will make some visits. On Wednesday September 26, McMillen and the InstiGator will make an appearance at the Fisher Auto Parts at 11475 Fox Cross Road in Ashland, Virginia from 10 am to 1 pm. Later that day, McMillen will be at Fisher Auto Parts at 9740 Jefferson Davis Highway in Chester, Virginia from 3 pm to 6 pm.
