Brandon “The Kid” Lewis brings a-fuel dragster to site of early-career success

BROKEN ARROW, OKLA – May 30, 2007 - When Brandon “The Kid” Lewis entered the NHRA alcohol ranks, success came quickly. One of the early-career high points for the now 21-year-old driver was a top alcohol funny car semifinal appearance at the 2006 O’Reilly Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka.

This weekend, Lewis will return to the Sunflower State’s premiere drag strip piloting a Tom Conway-tuned a-fuel dragster hoping for more late-round success.

“I have been looking forward to the O’Reilly Summer Nationals all spring,” Lewis said. “We had solid runs in Topeka last year and I cut some pretty good lights.

“It’s always exciting when you look at the schedule and see you get to go back to track where you’ve had success. Heartland Park is a great track and I would really like to get deep into eliminations.”

Lewis Racing Team is also hoping to pick up some momentum to help push the team through a June and July schedule that currently shows four national events and one Lucas Oil Drag Series race.

“It’s about to get seriously hectic for us and we want to get everything started on the right foot,” the third-year drag racer said. “We are confident the car is in great shape and I’m dying to get back on the track.”
