I am so sorry to be posting this. Tim Hay, one of our very best, has succumbed to injuries suffered in a crash, Saturday night, at the Fuel Altered World Finals at Eddyville Raceway in Iowa. This is a note from our Outlaw Fuel Altered Association leadership:
"We are saddened to report our friend Tim Hay, crashed in the final round of a race in Eddyville, Iowa on Saturday night, and has died from injuries sustained in that crash. Eyewitnesses reported the car was on a good run and about 300' smoked the tires, went sideways and ran head on into the guardrail, rolling several times. Tim was a big part of our group and a friend to all who knew him. We will miss his enthusiasm for life and great sense of humor. This is a note we wish we would never have to write.
We will get back to you when we know more.
Bobby and Nancy"
The brief time that I knew Tim, he proved to me that you can have a very successful racing effort, be the family man that every one of us wants and needs to be, a good friend, and still have plenty left over for life in general. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. My prayers go out to his family, and please make them parts of yours, too.
Tim Hay - Champion Rest in Peace, my friend!
