I have been looking over at classic funny cars at all the old pictures being put up and there are a few of Tim Grose. Anyone know what ever happend to him or where is he now??? I always liked his cars.

There heaps of old drivers where you have to wonder "Where are they now?" its like they just woke up oneday and said no more .

Not sure if he is a relation or not but this is alocal engine builder. Ron Grose
Ron Grose Racing
There is no mention on the site about Tim Grose so maybe there is no connection.

Tim builds exotic race engines in MI.
EFI blown injected motors on pump gas---big power!
Last time I spoke w/ him he was working on a project to become the first powerboat to travel over 200 mph.
If you need to contact him I have his number--PM me

I met Tim in San Diego when he was having a new Funny Car being built by Bob Meyer, 25 or so years ago. Nice guy. Old school racer. He used to wear the open face helmet with the respirators. Also didn't use an air shifter, had the old stick on the Lenco. Said it took 75 pounds to pull the lever. That was way back when Funny Cars had shifters.
Ron Grose used to own a few Pro Stock cars. We built one for him when I was at Willie Rells. A guy named Rich Marino drove the car. Rich had the line lock hanging from roll cage by the wires on the left side. When he staged he had one hand on the line lock and the other on the shifter. NO HANDS ON THE WHEEL. Told me there was NO WAY to skid the front tires (by not releasing the line lock). You had to turn loose of it to steer the car.

Grose was/is building a boat w/ twin blown injected motors that would 'cruise' at over 200 mph.. I know there have been many that have gone over 200 mph but not in the division he was aiming for.

Hey Todd, you are showing your age! I hope all is well with you guys.

Can anyone remember who the crew chief/team leader was and who did the clutch for Tim during the 86 Winternats when he defeated John Force w/ a early shut-off 5.69?

Bob Meyer will know....
