Tierp arena in Sweden files for bankruptcy!

After what just 2 years? I saw a post about it on Facebook, but the link wasn't in English so...

just click it anyway

then open in separate window, my favorite google site besides their search engine

Google Translate

It's great. It'll translate just about any language. You just copy the words you want translated, and paste them in the window on the left. The words appear translated in the right window. It has worked for Russian and Chinese, so I'm sure it'll work for most languages you run into. Might be a little work, but you can copy and paste multiple words, and, when you just gotta know....it's worth the effort.

Thanks for the link Joe

I found this person's comment on the article interesting...

For expensive tickets !
Belongs to those who really like racing in all its forms but with prices that exceed my budget , we are like four adults in the family, so we could not be there ... Maybe if the tickets had been half as expensive, then we left. Think so many reasons .

Long story but I doubt there is another concrete track surface on the globe built like the one at Tierp Arena. Consider the extremes in temperatures over a year in the area. My father was a "non-race-fan" civil engineer but both the technology of getting the construction done and the concrete setup made his trade news big time. It's not like you can just pour'n forget up here.

So true. Airstrip runways are one thing, the expansion seams aren't an issue, but if you want to pour a smooth race track capable of temperature extremes, that's one tough nut to crack.

It's a shame. Hopefully someone with a plan swoops it up.....it's such a wonderful facility
