Ticket extra charges (7 Viewers)

Just got tickets for NHRA Nevada race and IHRA Galot race. Vegas race is for 2 people on Sat, upper section. Not really concerned about the actual ticket price but the extra charges. Ended up being 203$ with extra charges.

Tickets for IHRA race is for 2 people, 2 days(Fri and Sat). 40$ a day, each person,160$ total no extra charges. Perhaps NHRA should process their card transactions instead of a 3rd party.

ticket pricing is a racket. Try buying big time concert tickets.
The 3rd parties & ticket fees are a total turn-off and everyone has their hand in the cookie jar.

We were going to go to something as simple as "The Chicago Auto Show" last winter. Purchasing two tickets and parking would've been $110. All I wanted to see was the new C8 ZR1, drive a couple EV's and have dinner afterwards. It just wasn't worth it, so we had a nice dinner together here in the Burbs.

jim, i thought the same thing, is ticketmaster with nhra? or the LVMS?
every august i pay right at the gate at BIR. i know i pay a little more, but it's worth it. i get an assigned seat(which i never sit in), atv pass, and camping.
one transaction, takes about 5 minutes. seamless. and no extra fees.
bleachers are never full. enjoy watching various rounds all over the place. last couple of years we took golf cart and a bunch of beer down to the scale
along the return road for one of the sat. Q sessions. there is actually a decent sized crowd there. everybody cheers for all the teams as they stop to be weighed.
it's great fun.

Are all NHRA tickets sold through Ticketmaster now?
All of them use different agencies but most if not all have fees. LVMS is the only one I went to that used Ticketmaster. I’m not sure who NHRA uses but there is a $12 per fee ticket on the full weekend pass and $6.75 if buying one single day.

I would always buy a preferred parking pass for the family for the RT66 Nationals. I didn't want to pay the $15 handling fee and since I work across the street from the track. On my lunch break I would go over to the track office, and they would sell me a parking pass without the handling fee. 😀

It's not just NHRA. It's EVERYWHERE.

Myself, my wife, and kids went to see Paul McCartney Friday night when he was in town. Service Fees were $49.75 PER TICKET!

Saturday night we went to a nice restaurant for a friends 50th birthday. It was $225 for the wife and myself. There was a 20% service fee for the table, and they explained several times it was a separate charge besides the tip. I assume people must think that's the tip, and don't leave anything extra. So rounding, there were 8 people at the table, so that's a $900 table and they made an extra $180 just on the service fees.

so go to the hot reunion at Famoso this weekend ,40.00 dollars. no fees at the gate, free parking. see you all there
iam going to pass on pomona
Great suggestion. I'll be there on Sat. I try to make it every year, and the March Meet as well. That track is a real throwback to how So Cal used to be.

I believe if I remember is $20 for general and $45 for pit side preferred just outside of the main entrance. The do still have them separated.

I thought there was pending legislation to curb the fee gouging. Lobbyists!
