It wasn't a Driver but...

After a certain incident involving a Funny Car and a Pro-Stock Team I had the Pro-Stock Team sign my Sawzall...and I am not kidding. It is signed...

Last year at Indy I purchased three Ashley Force "Like Father, Like Daughter" shirts and had both John and Ashley sign them. I brought them home and you should of seen the looks on those girls faces! Doug Herbert also signed some Dougzilla shirts for them which we wear to the races. I don't have any signatures for myself...but for my girls I would wait forever!

I have a number of Milestone 1/16 Drag cars with cases by Bob Campagna of DSR. Most are signed - Scelzi, Bazemore, Sarge, Shoe, Mike Ashley, Doug and Connie Kalitta, Gilby's Jungle Jim Car, Millican and both Bernsteins. Have three that need autographs - Bernsten's Buick Batmobile, Tom' 57 FC and Garlit's 300 mph car that (I think) was actually Clapshaw's car that Big borrowed.
I also have nine James Ibisuki lithos that were signed by drivers when they were produced. I got to talk to Shoe about James' art when he signed the "Manufacturers Championship" litho for me. The original hangs in his office at Schumacher Electric. The Holy Grail of my collection would be a personalized signature on "Big's First Indy" - I was there and was racing at the event.
Every one of these has a great memory attached - you can't walk up to a driver in any other racing series and get the responses I have had! -

I have two of the Ibusuki prints. "Showdown at Indy" and “Duel at the Beach”. The latter print from what i've read is his most sought after lithograph. It must be - James was at the Gasser Madness show in Madison about 10 years ago. He offered me over twice what I paid for it then! The last one I saw on eBay went for over $450. One of my wiser purchases I guess.
I have a few of the Milestone 1/16 drag cars, all funny cars. Mine are all Oakley cars, with the exception of the Wonder Wagon & the McEwen '57 which Tom signed.

Neither are signed but cool colectibles as far as I'm concerned. I have a parachute shroud from "The Rodfather" Luigi Novelli that was burned off in an engine explosion, along w/ a color glossy 8X10 of Luigi & his car. Also have a piece of Whit Bazemore's Chuck Etchells owned Kendall funnycar after he blew a tire & shredded the body in E-town about 10 or so years ago. Oh, also priceless to me is my photo of me meeting Big Daddy, knees shaking, hands trembling as he autographed my tshirt.

I have a Kenny Youngblood print titled "Force Power" that has the black and flamed firebird 6 time champion signed by JF, a Sat. Sept. 4/93 Indy stub signed by Big Daddy that is framed with the Swamp Rat XXX Kenny Youngblood print. I remember him looking a long time at the stub before he signed it,when I asked him what he was looking for he told me there was a bunch of counterfeit tickets sold that day and guess what? We bought our tickets that day off a guy in the parking lot! One thing I had signed that unfortunately has gone missing is a baseball hat I had Gary Ormsby sign, might have been the same year at Indy,he qualified no. 1 and went up in smoke in the first round

Hero card for the AAA car from Richmond 06 sign by Eric Lane and the Crew, last to sign was Joe C...

Austin's on a pic of the 69 Chi, Teach, on a pic of the blue pinto... Mike Dunn signed a pic of Papa Joe's red Camaro... still need Conrad's and The Don's... And Scoop signed the Cover... all in my copy of "Funny Cars #3"

d'kid

Wood burned this clock and had John and Tony sign it at Topeka in '97

Lets see a few of my items include A few Wally Parks signatures one on my tower pass, the burst panel from Frank Pedregon's Toyo Stratus from the finals in 04 when I worked with him, A few different helmet visors like one of Franks In-n-Out ones and a CSK one, and a few other very special visors givin to me ( one from the us nats in 04). A pilot chute from Ashley Force (She signed it the day after the race) from her second race in phoenix in 07 and A piece of tin we got from Eric Medlen that he signed at his first race in pomona. I also have numerous diecast cars signed which have special meaning like my Gary Scelzi Dodge dealers car and all of my Darrell Russell diecast are all signed by Darrell and Joe Amato.

This item just got thrown away a few years ago(kind of miss it)
1991 Winter nationals.I was a huge Force fan at the time.My buddy and I drove 7 hrs to watch the race.We were 18 at the time.We weren't supposed to leave until Monday morning, so we hung out for a long time after the races were over. There was hardly anyone left in the pits at all and we went back by Force's pit. They were eating a cake that was a congrats on your championship cake. They invited my friend and I to have a piece with them.I was never big on autographs (ego thing) but I had John sign the plate the cake was on and only ate half the piece. I kept that plate on display for like 13 years. John looked at me like, sign the plate? LOL That cake was a conversation piece for years.I still get the question of "you still got that Force cake?" lol. ASMOF I think that might be the only autograph I ever got.

On the subject of things people have HAD signed, back in 1991, I was working for the Southern Oregon Dragway and had booked in 4 Pro Mods. One of the them was Charles Carpenter, who is one crazy guy. However, one gal slowed him right down when after the race, she took him into his trailer, flipped up her shirt and had him sign her very ample boob. He came out of the trailer in a state of shock. It was really funny!

I signed a woman's boob once..... It caught me of guard but the crew yelled go for it so I did. Can I tell that story that here?
